2018 Overseas Study Tour Scholarship
MEF Victoria is making an overseas study tour scholarship award available to selected engineers/public works professionals who are working within local government in Victoria to participate in a group focused tour during 2018.
The study tour is to the United States of America and Canada and is available to engineers/public works professionals to travel in a group tour of up to three weeks and to attend the APWA International Public Works Congress & Exhibition (PWX) in Kansas City, Missouri from 26h to 29th August 2018. Each scholarship provides $11,000 to cover travel, accommodation and congress registration.
There are a number of important emerging issues regarding leadership in public works, community engagement, waste management, project management, the impact of climate change, and the planning and delivery of sustainable public works where the results of research overseas may significantly benefit the municipal engineering profession. The Foundation would welcome and give priority to nominations that address these important topics. This is not to exclude other study topics of choice that has been a successful feature of the program in the past and particularly if the topic is important and has specific application to municipal engineers.
The closing date for scholarship applications is Friday 9th February 2018 and are to be forwarded to the MEF Secretary by email to email@example.com.

2017 Overseas Study Tour Scholarship
The three public works officers from Victorian Councils selected to participate in the 2017 MEFV Overseas Study Tour have completed their study tour to the United States of America and Canada during which they attended the APWA International Public Works Congress & Exhibition (PWX) in Orlando, Florida from 27th to 30th August 2017. The study tour group traveled on an itinerary that took them to Portland, Chicago, Toronto, Orlando and Denver. Having completed the tour, each participant will now produce a report on their research which will be posted to this website on the Research 2017 page. The participants are also to be available to speak at conferences and seminars to deliver their findings and recommendations.
