Municipal Engineering Foundation Award for Excellence in Engineering
This award was introduced in 2003 to recognise the achievements of an engineer working in local government in Victoria who has throughout their career, given outstanding service to local government or been responsible for the execution of a Victorian local government project of special significance. The award is presented biennially to an engineering professional of IPWEA (Victorian Division). The award is granted by nomination and is awarded in place of the previously granted Cedric Tuxen Medal and Leonard Cheffers Medal.
Prior to 2003, the Cedric Tuxen Medal was available to an engineer who had given outstanding service reflecting devotion and contribution to local government in Victoria.
The Leonard Cheffers Excellence Award was made available to an engineer who had been responsible for a construction or project considered to be of special significance within local government in Victoria. The award was discontinued in 2002.
